Sexual orientation

this sections hero image with a quote

Sexual orientation is about who you’re attracted to.

Sexual orientation describes the way a person feels toward people of a particular sex and/or gender– both romantically and sexually.

In this section, you will learn more about sexual orientation, coming out, and how to get support. You’ll also get to read stories from other teens who are going through the same things as you.

Please note that throughout this section the acronym LGBTQ will be used, which refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/trans and queer or questioning.

Although references to transgender/trans people are included in this content, we acknowledge that gender identity is separate from sexual orientation. References to transgender/trans people are included here because they may share some similar experiences.
