Remember our counsellors will still be available by phone, 24/7, and our Live Chat service runs Wednesday to Sunday, 6pm to 2am EST.

We understand that talking about your problems can be tough. Sometimes, it’s easier to write about what’s on your mind.

Ask Us Online is your place to write a question in one of our topic forums, and get a response from a counsellor. Other users can read the forum posts but they can’t reply to them.


We think it’s important to respond to posts within 3-4 days.

This means we can only accept a certain number of posts each day. If you see a message saying that Ask Us Online is temporarily not accepting new posts, check back later to see if we’ve reopened. If you need to speak to a counsellor right away, please phone us anytime at 1-800-668-6868.

How do I post?

Choose a topic

Look for the topic that's best for you. If you've never posted, you will have to create a profile first. If you've already created a profile, login with your username and password.

Note to first-time posters

Do not give away any personal information in your username. Other users can read the posts, and you don't want anyone to recognize which one is yours.

Fill us in

Next, you'll be asked to tell us your age, gender, and the province you live in. We ask for these details is so counsellors can give you the best information possible. This information won't be shared with anyone. For more about how we use this information, click here.

The following will be edited out of posts:

  • Swearing
  • Graphic details about personal experiences
  • Personal details (like the names of your friends or school)
  • Content inappropriate to this website (e.g. explicit sexual content)

Come back in a few days to read the counsellor's reply. Look for your post either by the title of your post, or your username.
