We would like to inform you about how Kids Help Phone protects your privacy. Kids Help Phone respects your right to be informed about our policies and practices as they may affect you.
You can be sure that your conversation with Kids Help Phone will remain private within the Kids Help Phone counselling team. KHP does not trace calls, however if you tell us that you or someone else is at risk of harm and you also give us names, school, address or city you live in, it is our responsibility to involve the appropriate authorities to protect you or the other person from harm.
You may choose to give us your name, address and/or your telephone number because you want a counsellor to help you find services in your community such as medical clinic, police, or child protection services. A counsellor will then provide you that information. Your safety and well-being are important to us.
Kids Help Phone believes that you should receive the best possible service at all times. One of the ways we ensure this is to have a member of the Kids Help Phone counselling team monitor calls. This means that another person in the counselling team would listen to your phone conversation. If you are not comfortable with this just let the counsellor know when you call that you do not want your call monitored.
