Sadness is healthy

Sadness is a healthy and normal feeling.

You might feel sad because you:

  • Feel left out
  • Lost a friend
  • Miss someone who has died
  • Feel bad about yourself
  • Are sick or in pain

Sadness is in both our minds and our bodies.

When you feel sad, you might notice:

  • Pain behind your eyes
  • A lumpy feeling in your throat
  • Achy chest
  • You cry or feel like crying
  • You want to be alone
  • You want to curl up in a ball
  • Feeling small
